WHO ARE WE TO BLAME

Read Time:1 Minute, 22 Second

www.facebook.com/WRRPoetry [Who Are We To Blame]
O Nigeria, where is thy might
Where is your glory of old?
There’s nothing left but blames…
But who are we to blame

O! But to blame…
But who are we to blame?

Shall we blame the greed of the leaders
Who dragged us into this bog of shame
Or the foolishness of the people
Who believed in the despicable mirage of bliss?
After countless deceptions
Do they not still betray us with a kiss?

O! But to blame…
But who are we to blame?

We destroyed our blessed heritage
Sending envoys to the moon
To prepare another field, another playground
For our indomitable treachery
Lo! The voices of our dead men
Crying in the walls of the streets

O! But to blame…
But who are we to blame?

O citizens, gird up your loins
Let’s play the blame game
This is no game of coins
No need for goalkeepers, no posts to guard
The blame game
A game, a game so easy to play

O! But to blame…
But who are we to blame?

Think me illiterate?
Be sure I can play!
Allocate the blames and shame
On and on the game will go
But where will it leave us?
Right back where we started!

O! But to blame…
But who are we to blame?

We are the future
Let us let go if the past
And follow the future’s bugle

O! No need to blame…
There is none to blame!
