TWIN’S TALE: A CONVERSATION

Read Time:1 Minute, 8 Second
www.facebook.com/WRRPoetry [Twin’s Tale]

Kenny:
He exited fast
Through the back door
Taiwo, did you see him?
I never saw his shoes!

Taiwo:
He left before I was dropped
I landed amidst tears
I saw her face was still wet
Kenny! You just missed her wiping her tears

Kenny:
Why did she have to join him soon?
Why didn’t she wait till our noon?
Till we could walk and talk
Till we could smile and know why

Taiwo:
Brother, it’s not her choice to choose
She wouldn’t if she couldn’t
She wouldn’t deny us of our share of the milk
No! She would give everything to hold us again
Kenny:
Then why did she not evade death?
For our sake, postpone that end!
Till we could call out her name
And cover her when she eventually sleeps

TAIWO:
Kenny!
Your pain is mutual
Who knows that more than I?
Together we were left

To crawl and walk together alone
To learn to talk to each other alone
To grow up holding each other’s hands
Brother, save your questions
Till we can ask them ourselves
Though we might have to wait till the end
It will come sooner than we expect
