TO THE LOST ONA by Ololade Akinlabi

Read Time:45 Second

Far behind my shadow
Your voice whispers into my lonely heart
When will you be here?
Asking the unquestionable
Questions from your dumb-deaf  ‘chi’
SPEAK TO ME!!!
Its blinks not to my agony
Its whisper silence to where
You maybe……

When will you be here?
Our evening watered green-grass revolt to your absence
Loneliness, my best-fiend
Now a better friend
As choices leave me with no choice

When will you be here?
The night breeze that did
Visit when we tangled
Mourns you…….
Empty space you left in me
Now an hidden paradise for
The ‘dribble deceptoinists’

When will you be here?
Am waiting, holding on to the breathing branches of ‘asan’ tree
Till darkness rules the cloud……
I swallow my tears with ego
As I find no fingers to wipe my face…..
