THIS DAWN

Read Time:44 Second

www.facebook.com/WRRPoetry [This Dawn]
Slowly, the sun
peeps into my closed eyes.
I turn and try to ignore her pretty looks,
place my head on the pillow
as if to eavesdrop some comfort.

But it’s too late-
that beautiful glow has cast its spell
and I must arise.

This dawn,
this morn,
this yawn.
What clouds will dance today;
A grey or youthful one?
What breeze will sweep today;
A fierce or calm one?

This dawn
hear my beating thoughts
and keep ear to my uncertainty.

Yesterday was rough-
it wore sand paper gloves;
how soft is today’s skin?
What lies within its glow?

The sun looks me in the eye
and seems to say:
“To find out, step out of bed
and live today.”
