THE GREAT FALL

Read Time:41 Second

www.facebook.com/WRRPoetry [The Great Fall]
Iroko has fallen in the forest
The forest becomes silent
Mongudu is dead. Who shall pay the debt?

The king of the jungle died
In the quest of freedom
Who shall then roar like the king?

The sun has faded to bring us night
Who shall light our path?
To claim our freedom right

Madiba! You journeyed on roads of heroes
Questing freedom for the nations
Until death snatched you away

Oh! Madiba is gone
The great icon is no more
Who shall then roar like him?

A dirge is on the lips of my pen
With ink of sorrow shall it scribe
To mourn this great fall.

Farewell Mandela!
