THE GRAVE COULD NOT HOLD HIM by Osoba Taiwo Peter

Read Time:36 Second

Behold, their was a great earthquake
For an angel of the Lord descend from heaven
The soldier on guard with trembling shake
They were all fear driven

The angel rolled back the stone and sat on it
His countenance was like lightning
The soldiers on guard immediately lost their wit
They were all trembling

Jesus has risen
He rose on the third day
The devil has fallen
The temple veil has been set ablaze

The grave could not hold Him
The gate of hell did not prevail
Despite the people’s evil scheme
The soldiers on guard fail

The glory of God
Has defeated the night
Despite the numbers of soldiers on guard
He who was dead has risen and seen the light

I fell in love with poetry in the year 2014 because I see poets as geniuses who dive into peoples thoughts and imaginations and pen it down to inspire and to chastise.
