THE CLERGYMAN’S DEFENCE

Read Time:47 Second

www.facebook.com/WRRPoetry [The Clergyman’s Defence]

Stop!
Don’t give your clergyman a cold
By coming to worship without gold
As a harbinger of events to come
Repent, I cry out for reform
In truth this injunction I’ve espoused
But friends, I’m human; a fully fledged
Man with blood running in my veins
I eat Indomie noodles not only buns

Taa!
Keep your sanctimonious stance at bay
For I can’t with a settled mind preach today
When my children’s school fees I’m yet to pay
Nor shall I again be Murderous Hunger’s prey!
Sorry, I display such ignoble greed,
But I have too numerous bellies to feed.
