SOUL JAR

Read Time:1 Minute, 16 Second

www.facebook.com/WRRPoetry [Soul Jar]
Laying dead
Frozen solid
Muscles stiffened
Can’t move
Death is stuck in this person
An emotionless jar
Mere dust
His soul cast out

Silent heart
Darkness roams inside
Ceased burst of life
His eyes have got a story to tell
It’s not a strange tale
For many are landlords in the cemetery
Sent packing from the mortuary
See their posters all around…
Candidates of Obituary.
A lesson to the living
Miles stretch between us
As days turn to minutes
There’s no longer time to check time.

One day
Death will come calling for you
In the twinkling of an eye…
It’s hour is known only to your Creator
And you’ll leave behind
The love, which you desired:
Of women and children
Piled up wealth
Precious gemstones
Fine branded cars
Choice properties
Valuable garments
and ornaments.

Six feet down there
Only your jar is left
Your soul of imperfections
And your actions on Mother earth –
Conducted in piety
and impiety –
Your deeds…as pleas,
Your sins are the conundrums.

If you’re still alive
You’ve a chance yet
Purify your soul and succeed
Ruin it and fail
It’s a bargain at stake
Seal your soul
with righteousness
Allot it to evil
And end in jeopardy!
