SMASHED!

Read Time:57 Second

www.facebook.com/WRRPoetry [Smashed]
On this cold day
The golden light turned blood
Our land halted
The leaders of tomorrow, gone!

Oh death, this misty morning
You come with fury and lusty mourning

You slap our children and left;
They went only for road walk
You led them to dead work
Turned them to pieces of blood

They went to the journey of God
Singing praises unknown for the last
All, in one swoop, fell
The ugly story we’re left to tell

Oh why?
Why this cold visit?
Why did you come at this hour?
Why did you choose the young ones?
Why, oh why?

*Inspired by a true story. It happened on the 3th of august, at a village close to Jos.
An over speeding car smashed into 14 children of the Boys Brigade, while on road walk; 8 girls, 6 boys aged 10 -18.
All are dead.
