REBIRTH (a poem by Jide Badmus)

Read Time:30 Second
I break, bud of dawn,
thankful for light
—bird of day,
through shell
of night.

I break through
a crowd of mist
into a room of clouds
—through blinds of lips,
a chaste smile.

I break, heart of egg
into yolk of gratitude
—grain of time,
thankful for warmth,
for incandescent rain.
