KILL THE TRUTH FOR THE LIE: by Kukogho Iruesiri Samson

Read Time:37 Second

we want the truth with our lips
but flog the truthful with our lips
we say we abhor lies and deception
but one must birth lie to get reception

irony!
irony!

should i kill the truth for the lie
and coat the truth with silent sigh?
should i blunt the edge off my words
and hack my people with blunt swords?

baloney!
baloney!

so black becomes grey and white is milk
leather is soft, yes, softer than woven silk
“i love you,” i’ll say when I just want sex
flawless smile i’ll sport, even though i vex

deception!
deception!

sorry, i won’t wag my lips
like a prostitutes’ paid hips
as the candid thoughts form
so will these dark lips inform!

dammit!
dammit!
