I AM AFRICAN (a spoken word performance)

Read Time:28 Second

I am African.

(But then again, I’m not) Born and raised in Nigeria, but there are still many things about the Motherland I don’t understand.

Am I still African if I have times I feel like I want to “untie the knots of that label”? Can you tell I am if you just look at my face.

Or can you if you ask me to tell you my name? But really, what does it mean to be African?
