FEAR by Saidu Mark Jatau

Read Time:52 Second

My doors, windows, flung open,
greeted by obscure darkness.
My mind ruminates around her presence,
Because brightness took a long walk.
The night is still not awaken yet,
Nor am I wrestling with sleep to stay alive.
I try to unravel the present,
But was caught between darkness and fear.
Now my heart-beat runs faster.
My body hair grows taller.
The world I knew vanished into my thought
As I perspire, I pondered.
The fear of what lurks in the dark appeared within my heart.
Holding a dagger to strike I think.
Then, I arose in the comfort of my fear,
Striding towards turning on the switch holding the view to my gaze.
Though still caught between fear,
I persevered in strength.
Maintaining a perfect demeanour
And focusing my pride to the goals ahead.
My confidence grew stronger immediately,
The sword within my heart became sharper.
My vision grew even taller,
And then my fears all became my strength.
