AXOLOTL (a poem by Abasiama Udom)

Read Time:48 Second
It has come to me—this need to pull away from all I know. To chart a new course. To map my destiny but afresh.
Like the Axolotl, I am unknown but know who I am, my gills flutter in assurance of nature's beauty but I waver—
water or land?
I find strength to be whole—whole again.
Let me pull away from all I know. Leaving, losing my realities. Let me chart a new course, the Axolotl will be my guide for she has taken this journey one time too many. Finding herself over and over.
