AWERO, THE BLOOM by Goodness Ayoola

Read Time:1 Minute, 15 Second

Blessed is the root that bore the stem
The stem that held the life of this bloom
The bloom of a flowering beauty
The beauty that lies silently upon the dancing petals.

Awero is a domestic human
A dangerously hardworking woman
She’s got the book and character
She is the bloom.

She is the cynosure and the enigma
She’s got herself fine petals
She is the tale of voices and songs
She trained the nightingale.

She is the reed betrayed by wild winds
In wild winds she kept her petaled dreams
She has seen pains buttered in anguish
She has friends as no and without friends.

Awero has not smiled for days
Her smile is the charm
Like the flourish of green on an arid land
Awero is sad…

They are palms of thorns
The stomach-pained lizards
The traitorous friends in the garments of treachery
Awero is very sad now.

Tell Awero to be happy
May I blow your speck of tears away?
My mouth is wide void of pepper
May I blow your speck of tears away?

Awero my poetry is the love
It is the air…the soothing air
It is the shooting star omen of happiness
I have bought you enough smiles.

And Awero smiled and still smiling…
Tell Awero…Please tell…

Blessed is the root that bore the stem
The stem that held the life of this bloom
The bloom of a flowering beauty
The beauty that lies silently upon the dancing petals.

Awero is the bloom!
