Our glowing teeth not to smile<br>
But to beckon to the frigid weather<br>
Our complexion is seldom<br>
Negroes is what they call us<br>
Yet pride bestows in our skin
<p>Far away from home……..<br>
That evening granny folktales<br>
Lie in pieces of paper here…..<br>
As black-ink fables</p>
<p>Far away from home…..<br>
Hello, the appearance,the Disappearance of the smile-frown<br>
Moon that marks the beginning and the end of AJE market…..<br>
Over the sea where we dwell<br>
The moon is just a space</p>
<p>At home where we are…..<br>
Our patience is curious<br>
As we peep over the sea<br>
Cracks open the doors of<br>
Our homes for intruder</p>
<p>Folktales now parables in<br>
Black ink…..<br>
As granny refuses to uncover the<br>
Sandy blanket entangling her body<br>
and soul…..<br>
Our folktales are dead<br>
Only the particles linger in our brain</p>
<p>Yet we peep over the sea<br>
Till our village square root out<br>
graves<br>
Cemetery is what non-negroes call it</p>
<p>Alas! Our heroes now<br>
Living-corpses<br>
Sleeping like a toothless lion……<br>
Yet over the sea we peep……..</p>
