100 LINES TO HIS COY MISTRESS (a duet)

Read Time:3 Minute, 33 Second

[dropcap]A[/dropcap] hundred lines
From a bothered mind
To his coy mistress

To his coy mistress, pure and chaste
To sheer beauty, to poise and taste

Even a hundred hour
Seems little enough
To halt my lust e-motion
Coy mistress, fairest of them all
Around you, perfection has built a wall

[dropcap]M[/dropcap]istress, Oh Coy Mistres
Thou art the goddess of my muse
Haunting other creatures that lives
In between these lines and verses

Mistress, Oh Coy Mistress
Your eyes tell a thousand tales
Exuding radiance, drowning distress
Succeeding where pure emotion fails

Mistress, I’ll sing you a love song
Write you duets on every blank page
I hear that romance lacks a tongue
Mistress, let mine take centre stage

[dropcap]A[/dropcap]wait me, while I get my pen refilled
Shall I hire the wind to make guesses?
Of my hidden desires, now revealed?

I spoke for long of you, coy mistress
I spoke of grace, of beauty endless
I spoke of dance, I hoped for romance
I spoke; still I never got the chance

The morning sun slowly on the rise
Is nothing, to the secrets hidden in your eyes
And Calypso, with the world at her fee
Couldn’t beat your smile, with the gap on your teeth
Your dark and lovely looking hair
Not one princess could stand to compare
And ‘beautiful’, if one ever said such a thing
Would fall short of describing your skin

[dropcap]W[/dropcap]hen shall love be fair enough?
On the day that I shall find me
In this lust jungle where I am lost
Mistress, oh coy Mistress
Let last-night, be the last night
When the moon that sits above
Shall witness our hearts at war

Patience, I hear, is your secret key
And how I long to open your heart
But while I am willing to pay any fee
Old age approaches, and our youth departs

[dropcap]H[/dropcap]ow long shall we both be drowned
In the pretentious pool of hatred?
And though, it stinks, yet we swim
Tell me, darling coy mistress
Shall you lay down your ears
To hurtful echoes of the past?
Denying me, my dearly desires
Those words, stuck in my throat
Now, loudly screamed by my thoughts
Are but sincere sketches of emotion

I’ve sung to your ears a solo
I’ve ceaselessly sung your praise
Words from your lips I follow
Still, I am yet to understand your ways
Mistress, Oh coy Mistress
For how long am I to stand in line
We’ll both die, practicing suspense
Mistress, we have but limited time

[dropcap]I[/dropcap] dare you, dearly darling mistress
Come bruise me with graceful glances
And stampede my terrific thoughts
With tramps from your lusty feet

Thoughts of you are like the sunlight
Giving pleasure and causing pain
Still I think of you late in the midnight
Anticipating the moment when I’ll get my gain
When the wind will finally whisper your graces
And the tiny insects would then sing my praises
When I would savour the taste of your lips
While I worship in the sanctuary of your hips

[dropcap]B[/dropcap]ut shall we grow grey hair, here
Awaiting the perfect time and place
It dwells, but deep down in the grave?
Tonight shall seem two-nights
For I shall plead the evil-moon
To dim its light or leave the sky
Till the deed’s done, and the virgin’s gone
When, on that sacred night,
You shut the doors of your heart
Be kind, to lock me behind the door

I’ll hope for all mankind when my heart is set on fire
Woe and misery would betide, he who walks in upon desire

[dropcap]M[/dropcap]arvel not, that I have spoken your heart
For the wind served me several dishes
Of all your lonely whispers and wishes
They have mated and birthed this art

Behold coy mistress, the time has come
The last hour, before the deed be done

Daylight goes, here comes the night

Coy mistress, to thee I pray

A hundred lines to foretell virginity’s flight

Let not this night pass away
