VANITY by Saidu Mark Jatau

They amassed wealth and goods,
Refusing to share with those that have no food,
And pride themselves in opulence, such fools!
Now come and see them in their graves,
With just a shirt and trouser: some pitied with a shoe.
Just to make them decent enough as guest below,
As they laid in the humble home of king maggot to feast them through.

These are very important personalities,
With drivers and cooks; servitude or slavery.
Now come and see them as they lay in their graves,
You can’t tell a master from their slaves.
Oh! Wealth has failed to add up more days,
As they are all slaves to death after all.

So much injustice in the world. Our only solace is DEATH, the EQUALIZER!
