FOR AN UNSUNG HEROINE by Theophilus Femi Alawonde

Read Time:40 Second

for Lois .I. Alawonde, a multi-talented teen, who died of an unknown sickness, on the 11th of September, 2012.

I write this as a song,
for an heroine, unsung.

She had uncommon talents,
she was heavenly sent.
She could beautifully sing, draw,
design, she could do all without a flaw.
Her character is what made me,
and her rare talents will always hold me.

When sickness came, she fought,
and she fought with all her guts.
She never complained about the pills,
and drugs whose bills were as high as hills.
Today, I write to commemorate her,
for she was of a specie so rare.

Her death I call gruesome,
But I know she’s in God’s bosom.
