A SONNET FOR MY LOST SISTERS by Samuel Amazing Ayoade

Read Time:31 Second

Are they so soon forgotten?
Just like a rootless tree on a bare
rock.
Are they so soon forgotten?
Chibok fruits plucked and packed.
like fish stock.

Bring back our girls,
Tho’ they’ve suffered alienation.
Bring in our guests,
We’ll manage with their deformations.

Bring back my sisters
Who you stole for your lusty interest.
Please, restore the one-time spinsters;
At least, you’ve drawn your fleshy inference.

GOD, please, grant a search warrant.
You are the greatest judge of all.
E’en though they be hidden by the tyrants,
You know the nook-cranny of all.

The earth laments,
The space torments.
