Grave Side [Grave Side]

The morning after he was buried
I stood alone beside the grave
Breeze softly romancing my cheeks
Smell of moist earth filled my nose
I was deeply lost in thought

Her tenant was a friend
Muted in the morning of his career
By a drunk behind the wheel
Killed also were his unplanted seeds
Impairing his parents’ hope

Tears filled my eyes
As I vividly recalled
The days we spent together
As students, farmers, enemies even
Ha! Life hugs us with uncertainties

As I left his new home
Certain, I was, of one thing
My life won’t remain same
For I have learned to live
One day at a time
