Full Moon

www.facebook.com/WRRPoetry [Full Moon]

When the evening sun has melted way
and lain its shoulders in the undergrowth
When the lonely sky stalks in jittering steps
the grasses nod to the lullaby of the wind

When the moon is at peace with itself
the hen preens like an adorable bride
Then you will hear the hooting owl
making sermon for its ancestors
Africa oh Africa
we have come to you
we have come to hear tales
of our unnumbered kings
of the victory of throne to throne
of dynasties which fell and rose
