CACTUS

Cactus

www.facebook.com/WRRPoetry [Cactus]

I am born as a cactus
And destined to live and die
In this land of thirsty sand
On which happiness rarely rains!

I lack fragrance and beauty
Unlike the rose and chrysanthemum
Perhaps that is why men
Counted me not among flowers!

I see them bask in raindrops
And they dance, at ease,
To the tunes of soft breezes;
It strikes me through!

I get inspired
And try to uplift myself;
But I am crushed down
Even Before I do so!
