they shall return again
with their vain-full brain
they came last night too
with words that soothe
and corrupt verses – smooth
they shall come tonight
to stir our hope high
only to jilt the future by dawn
when they came last night
they tell us tomorrow is ours
but ‘has penury’ ceased to be ours?
when they come tonight
shall we sit with them
to sip wine of lies and deceit?
they sit at our doors begging
our thumb for printings
but it’ll yield for us nothing!
they call through our windows
target and use our widows
but the promises fly away as the wind blows
leaders of tomorrow wallowing in sorrow
leaders of tomorrow, thumbs for all borrow
run for your life, run with your wife
For with hatred, they’ll slaughter a thousand lives
