We present to you, ‘PATRICK POIRSON- Ici Toujours’, a 42-paged memento – or scrapbook if you please, lovingly collected in memory and in honour of late Patrick Poirson who lost his battle with cancer in 2017. The anthology features poetry by Nigerian poets, photographs, a biography, written by his darling wife, Brigitte Poirson, and a memoir by his lovely daughter Claire Poirson.
‘Ici Toujours’, a French phrase meaning ‘always here’, aptly expresses the sentiment we have for late Patrick Poirson, who remains a dear husband, father and friend to the entire Words Rhymes & Rhythm family. We intend to, through this small book, immortalize him – forever, in our hearts and in the pages of history.
“Patrick is not my late husband: up to this very day, he has never been late in love. His train is still on track. The inordinate number and quality of your poems can amply prove it. And they all contribute to mend the missing track.
― Brigitte Poirson
“Patrick Poirson is one man who epitomizes kindness beyond borders. Together with his wife Brigitte Poirson, his hands have helped many a young Nigerian, all the way from France – people he had never met. Yes, sadly so, he lost the battle against cancer, but he has won many other battles for many of us. For that, he will never be forgotten!
