DILEMMA by Jeremiah Peters

Whipped by the strokes of life
Sailed with the paddle of hardship
Now at the shore of entrapment

Dreams and records to realise
Yet, ensnared in a pen of confusion
No freedom, no muse

Then came a light
Alas, it was just a ray from a hole
For at the end of this tunnel lies another

Even hope,
Lies betwixt the ground and six feet
And my soul, so dry

I was told
“If you don’t think, you’ll stink”
But now, I’m stinking with thoughts,
Thinking in stench
