Joyce Nwanokwai, is a poet, writer, scenarist and a stage director from the southern part of Delta State, Nigeria. She was born on the 9th of September 1990, the second of two daughters.

Joyce grew up under the guidance of her foster parents in Ajegunle, a remote area of Lagos state. She had her primary education in Ajegunle Primary School and secondary education at Reservation Senior Secondary School in Lagos Nigeria.

She started writing at the age of seven, focusing mainly on poetry. Her first poetry contest was the “IMAP youth concert “held in Ikeja Lagos Nigeria, known as “illegal migration awareness project” where her poem titled ‘Arise’ won the poetry category.

Joyce is studying Criminology and Security Studies at the National Open University of Nigeria.

She loves nature and believes she was born to inspire others.
