Do you Shareefah Ibrahim Zarma
- Shareefah Ibrahim Zarma is a Kaduna-born writer, spoken
workartist, public speaker, and women rights campaigner from the Babur tribe of Askira-Uba Local Government Area Borno State. She was educated at schools in Kaduna and Kano States.
- Shareefah started writing in 2015, heavily influenced by feminist
ideals,and has published two books – The Silent Noise and Other Poems (2016) and Black Rose (2018), in addition to using literature to promote women empowerment.
- She holds a degree in English Literature from the Kaduna State University (2015 cohort) and her
favouritebooks are ‘HER’, an anthology by the African-American poet, Pierre Alex Jeanty, and Canadian poet Najwa Zebian’s‘Nectar of Pain’.
Her personal philosophy is: “any human can achieve whatever their mind is set towards – if they work towards it – and no human being on earth is unskilled or unintelligent, some are just yet to unlock their potentials.”
